How much will it cost to transfer my tapes to DVD?

One tape (up to two hours) transferred to DVD is $25. If you have between two to five tapes the cost is $20 per tape. If you have six or more tapes to be transferred, the cost is $15 per tape.

How quickly can I get my tapes transferred to DVD?

One tape can be produced in as little as one to two days. We always make your transfers our priority, so depending on the quantity of original tapes to be transferred, you can expect your DVDs in a day or two or up to a week for larger projects. For more than 10 tapes per project, please call our office to get an estimate for production time.

What is included in a DVD transfer?

We use only the highest-quality blank DVD media for your master DVD, plus a clear, amaray-style DVD case. Identifying text is printed directly on the disc, without labels. Logos or custom graphics can also be printed for a small additional charge.

Can two or more tapes be combined to one DVD?

Yes, provided that the total length of time does not exceed about 2 hours. There is a $5 editing fee for each additional tape put on one DVD. Actually, up to six hours can fit on a DVD but we do not recommend this because the video quality declines the more time is recorded.

Will anything happen to my original tapes?

No. Your original tapes are kept in our secure offices and are only used as a source for making the master DVD (the tapes are only played in real-time). Please notify us if you are aware that there are any issues with the tapes, such as a previously broken tape or one that can’t be rewound or won’t play. That way we can asses the integrity of the master before using it in any equipment.

Although we must view the videos to monitor the quality of the DVD transfer, we will not use any of your material for any purpose other than to complete your DVD transfer.

I have a DVD that is marked as PAL and won’t play on my TV. What’s wrong?

The PAL format is used primarily in Europe, Asia and Australia. The format used in the USA is known as NTSC and will typically not play a PAL formatted disc. We can convert a PAL DVD to NTSC to make it viewable on any TV system in the United States. Please call us at (503) 892-1998 for pricing information.

Can I mail my tapes to you?

Yes, however we suggest you use a shipping service where tracking information and insurance is provided. We cannot assume responsibility for original materials damaged before we receive them. We can also ship your original tapes and master DVDs back to you via insured UPS with an additional shipping fee. Please visit our Contact page for our shipping address.
