Professionalism
We strive to produce the highest in professional, quality service for video depositions and legal video productions with an attention to detail because we know that our clients expect the very best. Devin Williams, owner and CLVS (Certified Legal Video Specialist), is involved in most every video deposition from the videotaping of the deposition to the production and delivery of the media to our clients. We feel it is the owner’s involvement that brings an unsurpassed, constant level of quality and attention to our depositions.
Knowledge is a very important factor when choosing your video production company. All of our videographers are trained using the CLVS Standards for Videotaping Depositions. Discovery Media Productions, Inc. always strives to exceed these standards by being professional and by using the latest in camera technology and the best in audio production.
Quality
- Cameras
We use only professional, broadcast-quality 3-chip digital video cameras for our depositions, allowing us to achieve an excellent picture whether it is in a well-lit conference room or in a low-light situation. - Microphones
By using multiple lavaliere microphones, the witness and up to four attorneys can wear individual microphones for excellent sound isolation and reproduction. - Backdrops
Backdrops are available to place behind the witness, allowing for a clean, professional, standardized look to your video deposition. - Archives
Every deposition is recorded on a master DVD with simultaneous backups, provided at no charge, that are recorded onto digital video cassettes and computer files. All backups are stored at Discovery Media Productions, Inc. for a minimum of 2 years in case the DVD masters are ever misfiled or additional copies are needed. - Court Reporter Support
We have always provided an audio cassette to the court reporter immediately at the conclusion of the deposition. Audio CDs or MP3 files can also be sent afterwards for absolutely no charge. A direct audio feed can be provided from our microphone mixer to the court reporter’s laptop for excellent sound quality for the audio/transcript software synchronization. Laptop stands are also available for the court reporter's use during the deposition to keep the computer screen out of the video frame.
Additional Deposition Services
- Synchronization
Discovery Media Productions, Inc. uses a special video format and the court reporter’s transcript to create files enabling the user to search for terms in the transcript and to present your witnesses' testimony subject matter in the order you choose. This service is especially useful in larger cases as a case management tool for all of the video depositions. It is also a great tool to use at trial for video deposition playback and for impeaching witnesses. - Digital Editing
Edit your depositions to include only the relevant portions, helping to keep the jury attentive and to present your witnesses' testimony subject matter in the order you choose. Pre-trial editing of depositions is also available to clean up objections and colloquy not intended for the jury to hear. - Picture-in-Picture
This service is becoming much more common by having the main camera focused on the witness and a second camera focused on the questioning attorney, shown as a picture-in-picture box in a corner of the screen. One of the many purposes this serves is to allow the judge and jury to see the questioning attorney much like in live testimony in the courtroom. - Duplication
We have the ability to duplicate almost any media source (DVD, CD, audiocassette, etc.) into the same or different format with a super-fast turnaround. - ELMO Document Presenter
Used in conjunction with a projector and screen or additional monitors, the attorneys can present exhibits to the witness and other counsel simultaneously so that everyone present can immediately see the image. - LCD Projectors
A video projector can be used at a deposition to show information via PowerPoint or video clips.
